To get rid of the problem and be able to use my remote again, I have to get in the truck, turn it on, turn it off and get out again. Usually, at this point, everything returns back to normal and I'm able to lock/unlock it as much as I want. Now, until tonight, it was only once in a while, tonight, it happened 3 times.
SOURCE: boot won't unlock. Unsurprisingly, it is the cold. Sit a blow heater on low ( less than 1kW) pointing at the boot lock area for half an hour or so. Then it works - for a while. I think the lock motor gets weaker with age, and then the freezing cold makes the various joints that are greased just 'wax up'. The combination is what does it. 7 Jan 2015. #1. I have a Peugeot 207 which has developed a fault. It locks itself as soon as the driver side door is closed. When I get out of the car and shut the door the car locks itself where as I used to have to press the button on the fob. I thought at first I may have activated a feature but apparently this isnt the case. Get in your car and lock the door manually. Insert your key into the ignition and pull it back out six times within a maximum of just 10 seconds. If your vehicle uses this method, you will notice the exterior and interior lights flash. Insert your key into the ignition, and turn it to the accessory position.
You could try parking the car unlocked and seeing if it locks. Having a spare key in your hand and starting the car and leaving it iddling and see if it locks. If it locks when Idling then it could be elctronics. This may prove its an intermitent connection when only moving. Could be an intermittent on the door locking switch on eiethr door.
Hi thanks for the reply. Door locking/ unlocking with the remote works as normal. Just tried the key though and all doors lock but then drivers door immediately unlocks itself whilst the rest remain locked. The door can be locked manually with key when the convenience unit is disconnected.
