According to the fuse box diagram this fuse is for 'Restraints control module'. Restraints Control Module (RCM) The restraints control module (RCM) performs the following functions: signals the inflators to deploy the air bags in the event of a deployable crash. monitors the air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) for faults. It would then send you to step 2 asking if screen is completely inop, yes, go to step 4, Check for Corrosion, bent pins etc at the screen connector. If ok replace the FCDIM. pati610. I have a strange problem. The Ford 6000 CD (by Visteon) in my 2004 Mondeo suddenly stopped producing sound after i replaced the car battery. Now, the whole unit seems to work in all other ways - the radio, CD and so on, just no sound. I asked the Ford service staff and they suggested that the unit could have been stuck in 'mute' after If you get a DAB unit you might have to get convers+ software updated before DAB will show in convers. 2. Mic might not work, after fitting my unit the mic stopped working, still not found a solution (yes I've changed the jumper plug above glove box) 3. As said above you'll need a jumper plug to change the pin outs.
3. Software glitch. In some cases, a glitch in the infotainment system or onboard computer system can cause the steering wheel buttons to stop working in Mondeo. In such cases, resetting the onboard computers can sometimes help resolve the issue. One way to do this is by disconnecting the car battery for about 15 minutes.
This works for Jag radios up to roughly end 2005 : Enter any code 3 times so that the display shows "PLEASE WAIT". Simultaneously press ">>" "PTY" "A.MEM" should only take 2 or 3 seconds and the radio turns on. Worked on mine (end 2005) MAY work on Ford radios as they probably used the same innards. Share.

I would suspect a loose or damaged wire, with it working fine for a while once you plugged it back in. I would suggest taking the radio out, because as you said when the radio is off, there isn't a problem and see what functions you have and whether it plays up again. tazzman600. There is a problem with the sync 2 that ford are aware of but can't seem to fix. This was told to MD by an independent family owned ford dealer I bought my focus from. I've had problems with the sync 1 and was told about sync 2. Some seem to think the problem is cured but as of this Friday gone it hasn't.

I have a Ford Mondeo (2008) and the stereo is not working properly. It is the 6000CD model. The display keeps saying 'PHONE' and there no other buttons work when its like that except the volume (not even the on/off button). However, every now and again the radio/CD will start working again, whether its for a few seconds or a few minutes.
Both speedo cluster display and radio display should turn off completely and immediately and on unlocking both displays should turn on. Radio can then be turned on manually but note that with ignition turned off radio will display 1hr play time limit, after which it will turn off to save battery and extinguish all displays. .
