An update, 8/29/23; After a call to Samsung (SS) on 8/16, they had me return the watch as the representative stated that it should take 1-1/2 hours to do a full 100% charge and 30 minutes to charge it 45%. The watch was returned to SS. I now have it back from their warranty folks.

There is no fast-charging on any Samsung watch yet. Note the battery size and charger is exactly the same as the Samsung Active 2 models (which also took at least 2 hours to fully charge). edit: From the Verge testing 45mm Watch 3: "Charging the watch is also still a slow process, taking up to two hours to fully fill the battery."
